Preventing Violence in the Healthcare Workplace

Mt Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ When : Wednesday, July 16, 2008Times: 8am-12 pm & 1pm -5pm (2 sessions)RSVP by June 30, 2008Program Objectives This participatory workshop will examine the underlying causes of workplace violence in healthcare facilities, introduce systems of safety and accident prevention and will allow participants to analyze their facility's workplace violence prevention program to determine steps to improve it. NJ Work Environment Council Safe Work, Safe Care Project The goal of New Jersey Work Environment Council's Safe Work, Safe Care Project funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development is to create and maintain safe, healthy work environments for healthcare workers and patients. Safe Work, Safe Care promotes workers and managers working together, and stresses the valuable role of join labor/management health and safety committees that rely on group problem-solving strategies to identify, analyze and reduce and/or eliminate hazards.
